Common name: The Yellow Sugar Ant or Hawaiian Carpenter Ant.

    The workers of this species are about 1 cm in size and very aggressive - vigorously defending their territory against any intruders. Colonies expand quickly and will contain several thousand individuals.
    In the wild they nest in hollow branches such as bamboos or in the ground.
    They are easy to keep and will take a wide range of foods.
