    The queens of this species are about 7 mm in size and the workers 2-3 mm. They create large multi queen colonies and usually nest under bark or in old wood etc. They form very large colonies and are very aggressive - vigorously defending their territory against all invaders.
    They take to artificial nests very easily and take a wide range of food including dead insects and sweet secretions.
